At the recent advertiser showcase known as the ESPN Upfronts, the World Wide Leader unveiled a gargantuan, new Death Star-type set for SportsCenter. The broadcast will apparently utilize multiple personalities, either the largest screens known to man or massive green screens and a futuristic glass-meets-steel moderne motif.
This new iteration of SportsCenter will be housed in ESPN’s new “Digital Center 2,” a brand new 193,000 square foot building in Bristol, Connecticut on the campus of ESPN. Those Guys Have All The Fun co-author Jim Miller reported that this new building will cost the Mothership $125 million and will be opened in 2014.
ESPN has to do something to keep up with the Joneses, or Fox Sports 1.
