Alabama wide receiver Kenny Bell, who “hung up his cleats” and basically quit the team early Tuesday via his Twitter account, apparently didn’t actually quit the team.
Alabama head coach Nick Saban, in a media conference later that day, said the senior receiver was given a “personal day” and should be back to practice Wednesday.
Saban said that he and Bell had a discussion Monday, then Saban spoke with Bell’s mother. He told them both he wants his wide receiver to stay on the team.
“I want Kenny to be happy, I would love him to be a part of the team if he can be happy doing that relative to any other personal responsibilities that he has,” Saban said.
