TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The decision to leave school a year early and turn professional can be difficult. For former Alabama safety Vinnie Sunseri, his final decision wasn’t made until the deadline.
After tearing his ACL against Arkansas last season, Sunseri missed the second half of the season. He was thought to be one of the returning team leaders in 2014, but his progression and recovery led him to decide otherwise.
“The deciding factor was how good my knee felt,” Sunseri said. “A lot of guys were saying, ‘He’s coming off knee surgery, I don’t know if he’ll be able to do all this stuff. I don’t know if he’ll be able to do a pro day.’ Well, obviously, I did my pro day.
